The Ashcroft Difference
Ashcroft is recognized as one of Ottawa’s most innovative and accomplished builders. Every Ashcroft home is built to the highest standards of quality, distinguished by architectural intelligence and designed with style and flair.
There is a profound difference between building houses and building communities. From the locations we select to the types of residences we produce—which include houses, condominiums, lofts and business spaces—our ambition is always to create neighbourhoods. We incorporate the natural surroundings into every one of our developments, enhancing their appeal and preserving the qualities that made each site attractive in the first place. We build near existing amenities and services and create the space for new ones. We aim to make daily living simpler, more comfortable and fun.
Our company is the proud recipient of numerous design awards from the Ottawa-Carleton Home Builders’ Association and has consistently earned a top rating for after-sales service from the Ontario New Home Warranty Program.
Today, Ashcroft Homes is Ottawa’s leading residential and commercial developer. We believe in quality, innovation and integrity. These beliefs are evident in both our commercial and residential endeavours to date. Our mission is simple – we want to develop communities whose prestige and location-demand will last for decades. And, this is the reason why we’re involved in all aspects of the planning right from the start.
Ashcroft Homes began at the hands of David Choo, an engineer by trade and an innovator at heart. Since being founded in 1992, the company has built thousands of homes in and around the city; from master planned communities including Central Park at the Experimental Farm, to infill townhome neighbourhoods like Manhattan Square at Bell’s Corners, to cosmopolitan condominiums in desirable urban settings like the Byward Market, the Glebe or Westboro.

In the News
Elsewhere, near Dow’s Lake, Ashcroft Homes is constructing the first of two towers geared toward renters. Ashcroft’s CEO, David Choo, said even if the condo market had remained strong he still would have targeted students at Carleton University, which is just an O-Train stop away from the site.
With the fast pace of university enrolments, as well as the growth in international students studying in Ontario, student targeted condos have become hot properties, particularly for real estate investors.
A fresh approach to student housing that combines real estate investors, highrises, public transit and one of Ottawa’s hot spots for condominium developments is set to launch Sept. 28. That’s when Envie Student, a new wing of Ashcroft Homes, holds its VIP launch for the first of two student residence towers.
DAVID CHOO is the visionary entrepreneur behind the 25-year success of Ottawa’s Ashcroft Homes, a trusted developer of communities for every stage of life. An engineer by profession and an innovator at heart, he believes that being a builder of homes means having a hand in people’s lives and an opportunity to create life spaces that truly work. His founding vision led Ashcroft Homes to build one of the city’s first and most fully realized masterplanned communities: Central Park. Today that vision is defining new concepts such as Alavida Lifestyles, Ottawa’s premier retirement and senior communities; and Envie Student, a stress-free, all-inclusive, fully-loaded student housing community.
